From 6 to 9 PM\, stop in and purchase two Jumpstart Boosters to shuffle into a deck\, and one of our very own staff members will teach you! Just for participating\, you receive a special Welcome Deck. These decks keep newer players in mind and emphasize easy to read and understandable mechanics. \nOur entry for this event is the purchase of two Jumpstart Booster Packs! Otherwise\, no experience needed. This event aims solely at teaching you how to play Magic the Gathering! \nPlayers must have a Wizards account and enter into our event to qualify for a Welcome Deck. Don’t have one? Sign up here! Kids under 16 can register as guests. \nWhat is Magic the Gathering?\nMagic is a collectible trading card game of fun-filled\, strategic games to play with friends old and new. Welcoming worldbuilders\, narrative lovers\, and gameplay enthusiasts alike\, Magic has something for everyone and countless ways to play. SUMMARY:Magic Presents: Open the Archive Pick-2 Draft at Gnome Games Appleton North!
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Open the Archive draft event! Channel the ultimate power of the Mystical Archive! \nEntry: $25\nTuesday\, May 26th at 5pm \nMagic Presents: Open the Archive invites you to a pick-2 of draft Secrets of Strixhaven… with a twist! Mystical Archive cards can be played in any deck\, regardless of color\, opening new strategies and letting you fully enjoy every Mystical Archive card they draft! \n \nHow to draft: \nEach player will start with three booster packs. In Pick-Two Draft\, players always select two cards from each booster pack and then pass that booster pack to the next player. For the first booster pack\, players pass the cards to their left. Once all players have selected all the cards from the first pack\, they’ll open a second pack\, continue selecting two cards at a time\, and pass the pack to their right. After all those cards are drafted\, players do the same with the third pack\, passing to the left again. At the end\, each player will have about 42 cards\, which they can use to build a 40-card deck\, adding in any basic lands they need. \nPlayers should play one-on-one games after the draft. In a four player Pick-Two Draft\, players should play two rounds\, with the winning players from the first round pairing up\, and the other two players also pairing up. \nSpecial drafting rule: With each player’s first pick from each pack\, they also take the Mystical Archive card from that pack. \nPlayers who finish the event with a winning record (having more wins than losses) receive a blind-pack challenge coin featuring one of five Mystical Archive art designs. Collecting the coins gives players an incentive to return and play again week after week! \nReceive a Ral Zarek avatar in MTG Arena by participating in our Open the Archive event! To receive the avatar\, you must register for the event using the same Wizards Account you use to log into MTG Arena.
