This is Mission 2 for the 2026 year. Bring your best decks to compete for packs\, limited promotional cards\, and most importantly\, bragging rights! Rounds are based on attendance\, with 5 Rounds being the most rounds possible. We are not running Top Cut for this event. Matches are 30 minutes\, best of one. Participants receive a GD03-114 Look of Determination promo card\, Top 4 receive a ST07-011 Lockon Stratos (Neil) promo card\, and the grand Winner receives a ST07-005 Gundam Dynames promo card! \nEntry is $15. Players must register ahead of time on Bandai TCG+. \nWhat is required for this event?\nPlayers must have a tournament legal deck. These consist of a total of 50 cards\, made up of Unit cards\, Command cards\, Pilot Cards\, and Base cards that have up to two unique card colors. A deck cannot contain more than 4 cards with the same card number. \nA resource deck requires 10 resource cards. Any tokens required for the registered deck should also be present. \nWhat are Newtype Challenges?\nNewtype Challenges are a competitive level event for the Gundam Card Game. These are local tournaments recommended for intermediate to advanced level players looking to test their skills\, held at select locations only! A step above regular weekly tournaments\, players get exclusive prizing for participation\, as well as exclusive top cut prizing based on performance. Then they battle it out in 3 rounds of a Swiss style Tournament and receive extra packs at the end for participating! Players get to keep all of the cards that they get from prereleases. \nThe Prerelease format allows players to compete using a 40-card deck with four Prize cards set aside at the start of play. Like our Advanced Format tournaments it is Win-A-Match\, Win-A-Pack\, with OTS packs being up for grabs! \nBut what is Genesys?\nA new format of play and deck building that allows for more potential cards to be used! \nThe Genesys rules are simple:  \n\n\n\nNo Link Monsters or Pendulum Monsters are allowed. All other cards are allowed. The original field layout is used\, with no Extra Monster Zones nor Pendulum Zones. \nThe standard Forbidden & Limited Cards list is not used. All those cards can be used\, except Link Monsters and Pendulum Monsters. Usual limit of 3 copies max of any card still applies. \nDeck construction uses a point system. Some cards are assigned a point value; most cards cost zero points. The total point cost of cards in your Main Deck\, Extra Deck\, and Side Deck (combined) cannot exceed the point cap for that event. \n The standard point cap is 100\, but events can be run with any point cap\, or even a zero-point cap! Official Tournament Stores can set their own caps for their tournaments.\n\n\n\n\nGnome Games is using the standard point cap of 100 for these tournaments. A player’s sideboard can include 8 or fewer cards.\n403.3. Limits on copies of named cards as defined by competition format apply to the combination of Main Deck and sideboard.\n403.4. Players may use sideboard cards to modify their deck in between games of a match. Sideboard cards must be exchanged 1 for 1 with Main Deck cards.\n\n403.4.a. During that time\, a player may change their Chosen Champion to one from their sideboard or Main Deck that meets the deckbuilding rules of the competition format.\n403.4.b. In constructed formats\, a player may not change their Runes\, Legend\, or Battlefields at any point after deck registration.\n403.4.c.
